When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

The chief citadel of Maedhros was upon the Hill of Himring, the Ever-cold; and that was wide-shouldered, bare of trees, and flat upon its summit, surrounded by many lesser hills.
(J.R.R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion, Chapter 13: Of the Retur of the Noldor) --- This wasn't intended to become Himring, so there may be differences - I just felt like doing a landscape manipulation (though the landscape, except for the keep, was not changed) - and for some reason I had a different text passage in mind, which, to my surprise was completely imagined. This is what Elleth gets for spending two nights on a manipulation and barely sleeping. That, and a finished manip-bookmark-thing. Credits: Landscape from stock.xchng |

(I discared mine, though, because after two weeks of summer and beaches my muses all have gone on a Summer spree to Alqualondë.)
I really like the way this turned out, "real" and dreamlike at once!

You shall be a star unto the night
You will find hope alive among the hopeless
That is your purpose to this life
