A response, of sorts, to a conversation we had a while back (as I'm sure you remember) - about Arien, Tilion, and their respective vessels - or not. So now here is my interpretation of your initial idea, and I hope you'll like it. Arien, guardian of the sun in Tolkien's Middle-earth.
Too bright were the eyes of Arien for even the Eldar to look on, and leaving Valinor she forsook the form and raiment which like the Valar she had worn there, and she was as a naked flame, terrible in the fullness of her splendor.
